Château de Kergroadès
The château de Kergroadez, often written Kergroadès, is at Brélès, in the Finistère, north-west of Brest, in Bas-Léon. The Marquis de Kergroadez had a fine residence built on his lands in 1598. Battered by the centuries, the château is today gradually being restored and refurnished. It is classified a Historic Monument.
The building mixes in an original way Breton Renaissance and the defensive architecture of the Middle Ages.
The estate offers themed guided tours, lecture-visits on life in the seventeenth century and, in summer, night visits by candlelight, as well as other activities such as storytelling evenings or concerts. You should consult the château's website for the coming season.
