Château de Trémazan
The castle of Trémazan, in the Finistère, set low and almost hidden from the sea, is sadly in ruins today. This fine medieval building stands on a rocky outcrop. Its square keep partly collapsed in the winter of 1995, exposing the interior and revealing a habitable four-storey tower with a room on each floor.
In the Middle Ages Trémazan belonged to one of the most influential families of the Léon, the prolific and warlike Du Chastel family.
