Château de Grézan
A Roman villa, then a commandery, often called a 'little Carcassonne', the Château de Grézan is protected as a historic monument. It is a former Hospitaller commandery founded in the 12th century and turned in the 19th century into a fantasy fortress. This very large ensemble, surrounded by crenellated ramparts, is at Laurens, in the Hérault.
It is now a private home, lived in by Marie-France Lanson and her family, who welcome guests wishing to enjoy the country atmosphere of a large 19th-century house and to explore Languedoc and the Cathar country.
