Château de Cazilhac
Overlooked by the ridges of the Escandorgue and the Méguillou, the Château de Cazilhac, in the Hérault, stands on a rocky spur. The medium-sized building has a gently sloping roof of curved tiles and is flanked by two square towers. Foundations and remains of window openings are visible traces of the former fortified house.
In front of the château, terraced gardens overlook a landscape of meadows and vines. The site's old defensive origins give it a wide view over the Orb valley. The château is a member of the Conservatoire des jardins et paysages, and the courtyard and gardens are open to visitors.
