Château de Breteuil
The château de Breteuil was built around 1600 on the site of a fortress of which only the dovecote still remains today. The place was long called Bevilliers, a name said to come from the presence of 2 villas (bis villae) of Gallo-Roman times. The château is magnificently furnished. The visit is enlivened by 50 wax figures of the Musée Grévin. It is always guided. You will discover the drawing rooms that can be hired for receptions or seminars.
The château de Breteuil is at Choisel, in the Yvelines, in the Chevreuse valley, 35 kilometres south of Paris. Various parts of the estate are protected as historic monuments. Open to the public, it presents little scenes on the life and history of the château, staged by wax statues and automata.
