Château d'Agel
The Château d'Agel nestles in a valley of the upper Minervois, surrounded by hillsides, terraces and vineyards, next to the village's well-known fountain. Set in a small village at the foot of the Montagne Noire, it was one of the fortresses that prolonged the resistance of the Count of Toulouse's vassal lords during the Albigensian Crusade.
The château is a former early 12th-century fortress, transformed in the 16th and 17th centuries. Listed as a historic monument, it stands in the village of Agel, in the Hérault.
