Cascade de la Fouge

Ain, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

The Cascade de la Fouge is a waterfall in the Bugey, in the commune of Cerdon, in the Ain. Formed by the Fouge stream, it falls about 50 to more than 60 metres, depending on the source, from a limestone wall in a wooded, enclosed setting.

Several hiking routes lead to it: one starts from the D12 road, with a descent of about 180 metres over 1 kilometre; another, longer (about 2.7 km), follows the river from a car park south of Préau. There is a pool at the foot of the falls.

Caution: rockfalls have led to access restrictions and a risk of falling stones being reported. It is therefore advisable to check with Cerdon town hall before setting off.
