Chute de l'Albarine
The Albarine falls are one of the main sights of the upper Albarine valley, in the Ain, near Hauteville-Lompnes. The river leaves the plateau in three successive steps, for a total drop of about 115 metres according to some sources, the highest step reaching about 60 metres.
This waterfall is the site more commonly known as the Cascade de la Charabotte, listed as a natural monument in 1909 and a sensitive natural area of the Ain. A viewpoint beside the road between the Hauteville plateau and Tenay overlooks it, and the valley floor can be reached from Chaley.
The flow varies greatly with the seasons, weak in summer and powerful after rain.
