Le Baraci
The Baraci, sometimes spelt Baracci, ends its course in the Gulf of Valinco north-east of Propriano, in the Corse-du-Sud, after crossing a valley known for its thermal waters.
Unlike many Corsican rivers with rocky, turbulent beds, the Baraci has in places banks of fine sand shaded by alders, creating a gentler, peaceful, almost intimate atmosphere. Less spectacular than the island's granite gorges but restful, it is a pleasant alternative for swimming away from the bustle of the coast.
