Zoodyssee
Zoodyssée is an animal park in the Chizé forest, in the Deux-Sèvres, devoted to European fauna. It covers several dozen hectares of forest and celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2023; the département counts it among the most visited sites in the Deux-Sèvres.
Several hundred animals of dozens of wild European species are presented: wolves, lynx, vultures, kites, bison, Barbary macaques and, since February 2026, a wolverine, the largest mustelid in Europe. The Humanimal pavilions reveal surprising aspects of animal biology.
Zoodyssée is committed to conservation: it is the only park in France to run three conservation breeding programmes, for the European pond turtle, the European mink and the little bustard. Visitors can meet the keepers and take part in educational activities, and there is a mini-farm and pony, horse or carriage rides. The park opens from February to November.
