Sevre Autruche

Deux-Sèvres, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Sèvre Autruche, in the Deux-Sèvres, is a farm that introduces the life of ostriches, the largest birds in the world: their feeding and breeding, with a visit to the nest.

After the eggs have been collected, visitors can stand on them, as an egg can bear up to 200 kilos. The guided tour also shows how an ostrich is caught and ends with the chicks. It takes place in the late afternoon in summer, and groups are welcome all year by reservation. A shop sells gourmet products.
