Château du Deffend
The Château du Deffend, in the Deux-Sèvres, was built in the 19th century and stands in a 44-hectare park overlooking the valley of the Sèvre Nantaise. The harmony of its volumes and the mix of granite, Chauvigny stone, red brick and Anjou slate give it the comfortable charm of a bourgeois residence.
Inside, the salons are decorated on the theme of La Fontaine's fables. For lovers of old stones, the remains of the 14th-century keep are worth noting.
