Zoo du Bassin d'Arcachon
The Zoo du Bassin d'Arcachon is a zoological park at La Teste-de-Buch, in the Gironde, in the heart of a forest environment close to the Bassin. It brings together several spaces on one site: the zoological park itself, a farm presenting domestic animals and a play and attractions area for children.
The zoo is best known for its big cats and other carnivores, shown in vast enclosures, alongside other exotic species and farm animals that the youngest can observe up close. The visit is on foot and suits a family outing well.
The site is open seasonally and has known difficult episodes: it had to be evacuated during the forest fires of summer 2022, then closed briefly in February 2026 because of a storm before reopening.
