Parc de la Coccinelle
The Parc de la Coccinelle is a leisure park designed for young children, at Gujan-Mestras, on the Bassin d'Arcachon, in the La Hume leisure park. It opened its doors in 1985, on the former site of the La Hume zoo, and remains a family business today.
The route begins with the educational farm, devoted to domestic animals: hens, calves, cows, pigs, sheep and goats, as well as a few rare breeds such as the four-horned sheep or the Poitou donkey. Children can approach the animals, stroke them and, at certain times of day, bottle-feed young kids, lambs and calves.
The site also offers many attractions and games: mine train, merry-go-rounds, little train, inflatable structures, slides, water games, as well as magic shows. The park is suited to pushchairs and people with reduced mobility.
