Tourbières des Dauges
The Dauges peat bog is a national nature reserve in the Haute-Vienne, designated in 1998. It covers 200 hectares and protects a peat bog and its surroundings at the bottom of a granite hollow near Limoges. It was one of the first to be surveyed in the region.
It has been studied scientifically for many years and plays an important educational role for students of the University of Limoges. It is home to animal and plant species protected nationally and regionally. An interpretation trail allows visitors to discover it without damaging it; it is important to stay on the paths, as the habitat is fragile.
