Saut de la Saule

Corrèze, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

The Saut de la Saule is a natural site formed by the Rhue, a tributary of the Dordogne, a few kilometres from Bort-les-Orgues, on the border between the Corrèze and the Cantal. Here the river has carved a small rocky gorge where it forms a waterfall.

The site can be reached by walking trails, including a loop from the hamlet of Cheyssac, on the Cantal side, which crosses the Rhue on a suspension footbridge just before reaching the falls. A greenway laid out on a former railway line also gives access from the Corrèze side.

The area was once home to silkworm farming, of which some traces can still be made out. The whole makes an easy walk in a wooded setting.
