Rochers de Malesherbes
These eroded sandstone rocks, like those of nearby Fontainebleau, are actually in the commune of Buthiers, in the Île-de-France, close to Malesherbes in the Loiret. The Buthiers site is one of the region's top bouldering spots, with marked circuits for all levels, slabs, overhangs and vertical problems.
Easily reached from Paris by the RER D to Malesherbes, it also has one of the highest concentrations of rock shelters in the Fontainebleau forest, some with mysterious Neolithic rock engravings.
