Potager Extraordinaire
The Potager Extraordinaire is a plant theme park at La Mothe-Achard, in the Vendée, a few kilometres from Les Sables-d'Olonne. It is devoted to edible and unusual plants, with particular attention to cucurbits: squashes, courgettes, pumpkins and other varieties of very diverse shapes and colours.
The visit takes the form of a sensory walk through themed gardens, where you can observe, touch and smell surprising plants, such as the plant that tastes of oyster or the one that evokes a snake. The park has an educational and playful purpose, making it an outing suited to families and groups.
The site is open in season, from late spring to autumn depending on the year; a tourism listing announces the 2026 season from May to early November. It is advisable to check the official website for the opening calendar.
