Palais du Luxembourg

Paris, Île-de-France

The Palais du Luxembourg, in Paris, is the seat of the French Senate. Built from 1615 for Marie de' Medici, it has undergone architectural changes that gradually adapted it to the needs of a modern political assembly while carefully respecting this exceptional piece of Parisian architecture, which also houses an outstanding artistic heritage.

The palace owes its existence to Marie de' Medici; with its garden, it was long considered the finest in France after the Tuileries.
