Palais des Ducs de Lorraine
The Ducal Palace in Nancy, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle, built in the 15th century, was first the residence of the dukes of Lorraine. Abandoned in the 18th century by Duke Leopold, who preferred Lunéville, it went through various vicissitudes and became the Musée Lorrain in 1848.
It is adorned with a remarkable gatehouse, inspired by that of Blois, elegantly combining Gothic art and the Italian Renaissance. The Palace of the Dukes of Lorraine now houses the Lorraine history museum.
