Château de Saulxures
The Château de Saulxures-lès-Nancy, in the Meurthe-et-Moselle, was built in the 1730s, under Louis XV, by Count Claude-Marcel de Rutant, a captain of cuirassiers and major of the Guards Regiment of the Duke of Lorraine.
His granddaughter, Charlotte de Rutant, aged 22, was arrested here on 24 April 1793 and guillotined in Paris on 5 October 1793, despite petitions from the villages of Saulxures and Pulnoy.
