Château de Montaigu
The Château de Montaigu, at Laneuveville-devant-Nancy in the Meurthe-et-Moselle, was the home of Édouard Salin (1889-1970), metallurgical engineer, archaeologist, man of letters, scientist and collector, who bequeathed it to the Musée lorrain.
The château stands in the pleasant Parc de Montaigu, freely open, near the Musée de l'Histoire du Fer. Protected as a historic monument, it contains collections of paintings, sculptures, objets d'art, furniture from the 18th to the early 20th century, decorative arts and archaeology that reflect the taste of an enlightened collector.
