Notre Dame du Haut
The Chapel of Notre-Dame-du-Haut was built from 1950 to 1955 on the Bourlémont hill at Ronchamp, in the Haute-Saône. It is the work of the Franco-Swiss architect Le Corbusier. It stands on the site of an earlier sanctuary and of a chapel first rebuilt between the two world wars.
Registered as a historic monument in 1967, it has been part since 2016 of the sites of Le Corbusier's architectural work inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In 2011 a new gatehouse and a convent were built to designs by the architect Renzo Piano.
