Musée Le Préhistorama
This museum is the work of an internationally renowned Finnish scientist: Mr Eirik Granqvist. His skills range from taxidermy to sculpture, including palaeontology, the study of ancient bones. He created the Préhistorama in 1986 near Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, then moved to Rousson in 1996. The name Préhistorama was invented by E. Granqvist; it is made of two words, Prehistory and diorama. Dioramas are display cases found in natural history museums, in which stuffed animals are placed in a reconstruction of their environment. E. Granqvist applied this diorama system to human evolution.
