Musée des Musiques Populaires
The Musée des Musiques populaires (MuPop), labelled Musée de France, holds the largest collection of musical instruments and objects in France, from 1750 to the present day.
In the heart of the medieval town of Montluçon, in the Allier, it occupies a building that combines renovated mansions with contemporary architecture. Spectacular displays and interactive installations pay tribute to popular music past and present.
Several routes trace the remarkable history of popular music. The museum also has a documentation centre and an area for young visitors, with educational workshops.
