Musée de la lavande

Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

In a fine traditional Luberon mas, on the lavender estate of the Château du Bois, a family of lavender growers and distillers welcomes you and shares with you a passion handed down from generation to generation. Between botany, history and know-how, the Lavender Museum gives you all the secrets of the Provençal "blue gold", this fine lavender that grows only on the mountainous, dry soils of Provence.

You can discover there a fine collection of copper stills from the 16th century to today and other unusual objects of Provençal farming and perfumery. Two documentaries trace the exploitation of lavender, from planting to distillation via cutting. In summer, the old stills go back into service and the museum offers activities around the distillery.
