Moulin de Thévalles
The Moulin de Thévalles is a watermill rebuilt in 1850 and listed as a historic monument, on the River Erve at Chémeré-le-Roi, in the Mayenne, on the road from Chémeré-le-Roi to Saulges and close to the Saulges caves. It is the only watermill in the Mayenne open to visitors.
In the heart of the former province of Maine, in one of the finest spots of the prehistoric Erve valley, it has an exceptional four-level mechanism, unique in western France. The visit brings together history, heritage and mechanics, and combines well with the Saulges caves.
