Château et donjon de Sainte-Suzanne
At Sainte-Suzanne, in the Mayenne, the castle recalls the time when the stronghold resisted the attacks of William the Conqueror. Of the 11th-century fortress, the keep survives.
The residence, begun around 1605, has a columned flight of steps and classical dormer windows on its inner façade. Above the ravine, a large square tower with a pointed roof adds a touch of fantasy to the landscape.
The castle hosts exhibitions and activities throughout the year.
