Château de Foulletorte

Mayenne, Pays de la Loire

The Château de Foulletorte is a 16th- and 17th-century house 2 km from Saint-Georges-sur-Erve, in the Mayenne. It was built on the site of a feudal building set on a motte surrounded by ditches, beside a lake crossed by the River Erve.

It has been registered as a historic monument since 1929, except for the parts that are fully listed: façades, roofs and the grand staircase with its loggias. In its green and watery setting, the château makes a pleasant stop on a walk in the Erve valley, near the Saulges caves and the Thévalles mill.
