Le long de la Tartagine
The Tartagine is a river of the Haute-Corse more than 30 kilometres long, which rises at Olmi-Cappella at nearly 1,900 metres and flows into the Asco, a tributary of the Golo. It crosses the vast Tartagine-Melaja forest, in the Giussani, among laricio pines, holm oaks and scrubland, in the heart of the Corsica Regional Nature Park.
Along the river, paths and forest tracks follow the water, cross small bridges and lead to pools and mossy stones. The atmosphere is calm and wild, far from the coast. The area combines well with the neighbouring Bonifatu forest and the villages of the Giussani.
