Le Lioran
Le Lioran, in the Cantal, is a resort set among fir trees in the heart of the Cantal massif and the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park. It covers about 150 hectares, between 1,160 and 1,850 metres.
The ski area has some forty runs, about sixty kilometres in all, served by around twenty lifts, including a cable car up towards the Plomb du Cantal. Part of the area and the beginners' zones have snowmaking.
The resort also offers many activities without skis: dog sledding, snowmobiling, sledging, an ice rink, balneotherapy, snowshoeing on your own or with a guide, and ice climbing. Olympic downhill champion Carole Montillet, gold medallist at Salt Lake City in 2002, is its patron.
