La Cascade du Saut de la Truite dans la haute vallée de Brezons
The Saut de la Truite waterfall is at Sanissage, in the commune of Brezons, in the upper Brezons valley in the Cantal. The walk starts from the D39, where a laid-out area is the common starting point for three hiking loops.
The Saut de la Truite trail, easy and family-friendly, follows a good path lined with stone walls and shaded by old beeches. It leads in about forty minutes there and back to a waterfall about thirty metres high. A path leads to a viewing balcony above it.
Other loops lead to neighbouring waterfalls, notably the Livernade a little further along the stream, then the Arbre de la Biche. Care is advised near the falls, especially with children.
