Cascade de Liadouze ou du Luc
The Liadouze waterfall, also called the Luc waterfall, is in the Cantal, in volcanic mid-mountain country. Its fall is explained by the local geology: a flow of latite, a volcanic rock about ten metres thick, bars the stream's course, which cuts it only in part. The water then flows to the river Jordanne. Several hiking sheets of the département describe routes of about an hour and a half to two hours from Chastel-sur-Murat or the hamlet of Lapsou, which let you reach the waterfall. It is an outing accessible to ordinary walkers, to combine with discovering the landscapes and geology of the Cantal. It is advisable to check locally on the state of the paths.
