Le Donjon des Aigles
The Donjon des Aigles is a bird-of-prey park set in the château de Beaucens, in the Hautes-Pyrénées, about fifteen kilometres from Lourdes. It houses a collection of diurnal and nocturnal birds of prey, including kites, vultures, eagles, sea eagles, falcons and buzzards. Parrots complete the presentation.
The heart of the visit is a flight show of about fifty minutes. The raptors fly free in the Pyrenean sky, to music, and demonstrate their gliding abilities. The parrots, for their part, land on the spectators' hands.
The site suits adults as well as children, and offers an educational show for the youngest. The château de Beaucens provides a picturesque setting for this discovery of winged wildlife. The activity is seasonal, with a winter break announced on the official site.
