Aquarium tropical de Pierrefitte-Nestalas
The tropical aquarium of Pierrefitte-Nestalas, in the Haut-Lavedan valley in the heart of the Hautes-Pyrénées, is devoted to tropical aquatic life. Its tanks hold freshwater and saltwater fish from Asia, the Amazon, Oceania and the great African lakes.
Visitors can discover emblematic species such as the piranha, the nurse shark, the motoro stingray, the Grace Kelly grouper and the emperor angelfish. Each species comes with educational information, and a video projection room completes the visit.
The aquarium suits families, curious visitors and school groups who want an introduction to aquatic life, as a complement to the mountain activities of the area.
