Le Château de Posanges
The castle of Posanges, in the Côte-d'Or, was built between 1437 and 1453 by Guillaume du Bois, lord of Posanges and steward to the Duke of Burgundy, Philip the Good. What strikes visitors first is its perfect state of preservation: the materials were excellent and the masonry flawless, so that time has not damaged its thick walls.
Posanges can be considered a typical example of a kind of building widespread in Burgundy in the 15th century. The castle can be seen together with the small village of Posanges, in a landscape of Burgundian countryside and valleys between Dijon and Semur-en-Auxois.
