La Source bleue
The Source Bleue is a karst resurgence of the Haut-Doubs, between Malbuisson and Montperreux, in the Jura massif. Its translucent blue-green water gushes from a rocky cavity in the middle of the forest, forms a small waterfall in a basin, then flows as a stream to Lac de Saint-Point.
The water's colour, very distinct, surprises in this wooded environment and attracts many walkers.
You get there on foot by a hiking path from Malbuisson, which forms a loop of about 6.5 km with nearly 200 metres of climb, rated easy. The path can be a little steep in places and little shaded towards the end. It is possible to combine the visit with the tour of Lac de Saint-Point, the second largest natural lake in the Jura.
