La ferme aux bisons
La Ferme aux bisons, in the Ariège, is a 110-hectare livestock farm facing the Pyrenees. Bison, fallow deer, yaks, wapiti, red deer and other species live here in a vast open space.
The visit, with commentary from the farmer, is made in a 4x4 or a tractor-drawn trailer; it may be cancelled in bad weather. The animals are fed only on grass and cereals, and the farm produces meat and prepared products.
On site there is a farm shop, a picnic area, a playground, a refreshment bar, a restaurant open at lunchtime, a taxidermy exhibition room and an education room.
