La Maison des Loups
La Maison des Loups is a park devoted to wolves at Orlu, at the head of the Oriège valley, in the Ariège. It covers several hectares of forest in the heart of the Orlu national wildlife reserve and offers an immersion in the world of this legendary predator.
Several packs live here, including European, Canadian and Arctic wolves. Keepers comment on the feeding sessions, held two or three times a day, and explain the animals' life and behaviour. An observation tunnel is accessible by booking.
A visit lasts from two hours to a whole day. A panoramic terrace with bar and restaurant overlooks the waterfall and forest, and a small part of the route is accessible to people with reduced mobility. A tree-top adventure park is right next door.
