La Cascade du Moulin de Vulvoz

Jura, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

The Moulin de Vulvoz waterfall is in the Haut-Jura, about fifteen kilometres south of Saint-Claude, near the hamlet of Vulvoz, in the Tacon gorges. About 22 m high, it is known for its emerald-green water and for a natural hole in the rock. The water rushes there into a sort of slide carved into the rock.

You can see the ruins of an old grain mill, turned in the early twentieth century into a small hydroelectric plant.

A hiking loop of about 9 km passes by the waterfall. Note: since April 2024, the path leading to it crosses private property and access to the fall is no longer possible. It is best to ask the tourist office before going.
