La cascade du Cheylat
The easily reached Cheylat waterfall appears along the medieval 'Vieilles Pierres' (old stones) trail, in the Cantal.
It is a fall of fine height that drops over hanging basalt columns, surrounded by impressive boulders.
Access: from the hamlet of La Tourille (park on the hairpin bend of the D40 towards Chalinargues), a five-minute walk. Or follow the Vieilles Pierres trail from Neussargues or Chalinargues.
