La Cascade des Pozzi
The Pozzi form an area of high-altitude plateaux in the Monte Renoso massif, near Bastelica. There are pozzines, those boggy meadows dotted with pools, at about 1,700 metres' altitude, carved in former glacial lake depressions. They are acid peat bogs crossed by winding streams.
At the exit of the pozzines, just before the sheepfolds, a small waterfall falls into a rock fault and forms a natural basin where you can cool off. The Pozzi sheepfolds are the goal of several hikes. These high-altitude wetlands are a rare habitat, whose ecological interest is recognised, and reaching them calls for good fitness.
