Cascade du Meli

Haute-Corse, Corse

The Meli waterfall is in the Manganellu valley, in the Corte area of the Haute-Corse, in the commune of Vivario according to the Routard guide. It is less famous than the neighbouring Restonica gorges.

The classic route starts from the hamlet of Canaglia, reached by the D23, and follows the river through pines and oaks. The path passes clear pools and small cascades and the Tolla sheepfolds before reaching the waterfall, roughly halfway along the loop of about ten kilometres and four hours.

The waterfall is not directly on the GR20, so reaching it means a deliberate detour. It lies in an unspoilt mountain landscape away from the coast.
