Grotte du Bel Affreux
Going up the Antheuil river, in the Côte-d'Or, leads to the "Bel Affreux" cave, whose open-jaw-shaped entrance is said to have earned it, from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century, a reputation as a diabolical lair. More than 200 metres long and rich in limestone concretions, it houses a petrifying spring that is the origin of fine tufa waterfalls along the valley. The cavity itself is closed to the public, but a pleasant walk of about 150 metres lets you follow the stream to its entrance.
