The village was built on a long sandstone spur. From the top of the town, its medieval architecture astonishes. Close to three castles (Saint-Hilaire with square towers, Plas with round towers and La Johannie), the Romanesque church of Saint-Barthélemy holds an altarpiece of 1672 and altars of Saint John the Baptist and the Virgin of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
The sixteenth-century covered market houses a Gothic calvary base and Romanesque sculptures. Outside the town, the Romanesque church of Saint-Genest is decorated with fifteenth-century paintings and that of La Combe is one of the oldest in the Corrèze.
