Château du Colombier

The Château du Colombier offers an enchanted walk through the Middle Ages in a 7-hectare park containing the castle of the counts of La Panouse, a medieval garden and a living bestiary. A family property of the Viscount de La Panouse, founder of the Thoiry wildlife park, the castle has been in the family for 30 generations. Its almost square shape, small barred windows, machicolations, arrow slits and gunports recall its defensive role.

The Château du Colombier is a 14th-century residence, altered in the 15th and 19th centuries, at Salles-la-Source in the Aveyron. It has been registered as a historic monument since 1995.
