Château du Clos Lucé

Indre-et-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire

The château du Clos Lucé, formerly called the manor of Cloux or the Clos, is a residence in France, in the town centre of Amboise in the heart of the Loire Valley. It is there that Leonardo da Vinci, invited by Francis I, lived three years, from 1516 until his death on 2 May 1519. As Leonardo da Vinci's house, it has been listed as a historic monument since the 1862 list. The château du Clos Lucé is today a place of interpretation, knowledge and synthesis whose purpose is to let the widest public discover the world of Leonardo da Vinci.
