Château des ducs de Lorraine
The fortress of Sierck-les-Bains, in the Moselle, built on a rocky promontory overlooking the Moselle valley, is one of the few 11th-century forts in eastern France whose curtain walls, casemates and massive towers with arrow slits and underground passages are still in an imposing state.
It was also one of the favourite residences of the dukes of Lorraine.
