Château de Hombourg-Budange
The Château de Hombourg-Budange, in the Moselle, is a witness to the history of France and Europe. On the edge of Lorraine, not far from Luxembourg, it underwent constant alterations and many changes of ownership as dominant influences, wars and inheritances came and went.
This eventful history of territorial struggles and family rivalries can still be read in its walls, which have survived the centuries. The château illustrates the place of this border region in the making of the French state and of Europe.
