Château de Trédion

Morbihan, Bretagne

The Château de Trédion stands in the Morbihan, in the heart of the Lanvaux forest, at the foot of a small hill. It dates back to the 14th century and was originally a modest manor used as a hunting lodge by the Dukes of Brittany. It has since been enlarged and remodelled, while remaining a private house recorded in the heritage inventory.

The estate extends over a large landscaped park of about twenty hectares, which can be explored. It includes five ponds, themed gardens and several sculptures scattered among the greenery. Visitors, individually or in groups, will find shady paths and views of the manor and the lakes.

The château also welcomes guests and receptions, making it a living place rather than a frozen monument. It lies between Vannes and Ploërmel, in an area of woods, heaths and ponds.
